Battling Mental Health: My Journey Today

Nothing Since March 31…

Today I reached Jake B for a moment. He said he had been battling depression. John C had been “caught” doing an illegal substance in Jake’s living room. He is now staying in a comped room. Last time I spoke with him he doubted it was me on the phone. I tried to break through but the circular argument was hurting my head. I broke the connection and blocked the phone.

I thought I would go to Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker Senior event. A recent experience showed me that was a pipe dream. Today instead of playing poker at the Senior Enrichment Center in Bullhead City AZ I had a mental health assessment by a Licensed Social Worker in San Bernardino County, CA. I answered the ACE questions. Not good. 7 out of 10 possible. I wonder if my children would answer any better.

My youngest son would score high. I’m pretty sure that my oldest children would also. The cycle of abuse continues. It leads to depression for many. Goals from today’s session. Make healthier choices and work on my anger issues.
